FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — Military officials say Fort Campbell will receive $103 million from President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package.
Fort Campbell’s director of public works, Ted Reese, says $43 million of the money will go toward completing a facility to aid soldiers injured in combat.
Reese says another $60 million will be used to replace World War II-era buildings on the sprawling military post on the Kentucky-Tennessee border.
The announcement came Friday during a groundbreaking ceremony for a new wounded soldiers assistance center at the military post.
